Great New Missions Resources from NAMB

I think you will find the resources below to be valuable. Thanks to NAMB for putting this together. BTW, Ed Stetzer just released a book called Breaking the Missional Code. It helps church leaders to understand our rapidly changing culture with a view to clearly communicate Christ in it.

Greetings from your partner at the North American Mission Board!
My name is Ed Stetzer and I have the privilege of serving you and our churches through the Center for Missional Research (CMR) at the North American Mission Board. Our intent is to help our churches grow in knowledge of their communities and their strategies for more effective ministry.

You will discover some exciting features offered by CMR at our new website, www.missionalresearch.info . Our desire is to help our partners and churches do evangelism, church planting, and people sending more effectively. The products and services of CMR are offered to SBC churches for free, thanks to your support given through the Cooperative Program and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering®.

We offer a Guide Booklet that you can download and read by clicking on the link. (It is a 6.3 MB file, so a high-speed Internet connection is recommended.) As the Guide Booklet explains, when you access our website, you will be able to:
  • Order and download detailed DEMOGRAPHIC REPORTS, including thematic maps, prepared for your community.
  • Search through more than 1,000 pieces of downloadable information in our church and culture FACT FILE.
  • Research and connect with PEOPLE GROUPS across North America
  • Connect online to a community of ministry leaders through the MISSIONAL NETWORK.
  • Explore the latest news about culture, communities, churches, and networks of churches in North America in NEWS OF NOTE.
We have always offered Demographics, but this will take things to a new level. The Fact File will enable churches to see all kinds of church and culture research in one easy location as they prepare messages or just seek knowledge. The People Groups site www.peoplegroups.info is now in a pilot stage, but it is a cutting edge partnership between NAMB and the IMB. It will enable us to understand and reach people groups more effectively. The Missional Network is an on-line community of pastors and church leaders who can share ideas and learn from each other as they network according to their chosen ministry approach. Our hope is that all of these things will help us to serve you and your churches more effectively.

Since this information will be distributed in Greensboro, we wanted to let you know first. And, if you would like, we can have the Guide Booklets made for use at any local Association meetings you might have.

Be sure to visit www.missionalresearch.info for more information, and feel free to share this with your churches as you deem appropriate.

God bless, Ed StetzerMissiologist and Senior Director, Center for Missional Research
